Who we are

MotoMaint is made by Kantan Solutions Group Ltd., a company registered in New Brunswick, Canada. For anything in this policy, email hello@kantangroup.com.

What we collect

Nothing. MotoMaint has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party software that sends information anywhere. We do not receive your vehicles, service records, photos, readings, or anything else you put into the app. MotoMaint’s App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected” for this reason.

Where your information is kept

Everything you enter is stored on your device. If you choose iCloud Drive in Settings › Storage, your data is kept in the MotoMaint folder of your own iCloud Drive so it can sync between your devices. That storage belongs to your Apple Account and is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot see or access it.

The one thing that goes online

When you add a car or motorcycle, MotoMaint fetches a list of models for the make and year you picked from the vehicle database run by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The request contains only that make and year. It includes nothing about you or your vehicle, and the results are kept on your device for 7 days so the same list isn’t fetched again. Like any website, NHTSA’s servers can see the internet address the request comes from. If you’re offline, the app uses its built-in list instead.

Camera and photos

If you add a photo of a vehicle, MotoMaint asks for access to your camera or photo library at that moment. Photos are stored with the rest of your data, on your device or in your iCloud Drive. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Notifications and Siri

Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device. We don’t run a server that sends them. When you update a reading with Siri, Siri handles your voice under Apple’s terms, and MotoMaint saves the reading to your data on the device.

Purchases

MotoMaint Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we never receive your payment details. The app asks Apple whether Pro has been purchased on your Apple Account so it can unlock it.

Backups you share

A .moto backup or CSV file goes wherever you choose to save or send it. Once it leaves the app, it’s under your control and the control of the service you share it with.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. Data in iCloud Drive can be removed in the iOS Settings app, under your name › iCloud. Because we hold nothing, there’s nothing for us to delete, but we’re happy to help if you have questions.

Children

MotoMaint does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and similar laws, you can ask what personal information we hold about you. For MotoMaint the answer is none. If you email us, our site’s privacy policy explains how we handle that message.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of the page. If MotoMaint ever starts collecting any data, this page will say exactly what, and why, before that version of the app is released.
